Key Art: Gateway to the Duat

The key art depicts Dalia entering the Duat, the afterlife. Her small frame is visible cowering in a big boat, in the midst of a storm. This simple wooden boat will eventually transform into her boathouse. These stormy waters flow through the giant gate which serves as a entrance to the Duat. All sebas enter the afterlife on a boat, some flying away and some staying in the boat after entering. The sky is littered with boats like stars in the dark sky.

I explored some different angles, from the side and the back of the gate to depict its scale, but this direct approach worked better, the main elements on the 2/3rds of the composition. The composition is full of yellows and blues, depicting a pinch of happiness in an endless sea of sorrow.
